I like to stress the importance of living a healthy and fit lifestyle during childhood and teen years. Some of you already know that I sponsor an exercise club at the school I work at. We meet one Friday each month and try to stay active by lifting weights, throwing the football around, jump roping, or shooting hoops. The students range from ages 14-17 and they stay active outside of school by running track, playing football, etc. On the first club day we discussed healthy eating and workout habits. Then of course, I took them outdoors to give them fun little pushup and situp assessments.
